Deadly DUI Accidents Reduced

The Ohio State Highway Patrol reports DUI related fatal crashes are down. Troopers started cracking down last year on taking drunk and drugged drivers off state highways, and it appears to have paid off. Drunk driving crashes made up over 1/3 of all fatal wrecks last year, which is a decrease from the year before. In all, there were over 14,000 DUI accidents in Ohio last year, killing nearly 400 and injuring 8,800 others. This, while troopers took more than 27,000 impaired drivers off the state’s roadways during that time.
