Death Penalty Dropped In Loop Case

The capital component in the Michael Loop murder case in Paulding County is dismissed. Loop is facing charges of aggravated murder and aggravated burglary, a first-degree felony in the death of Philip Koenn in September. Loop has pled not guilty to the charges. A capital component means the death penalty may be given if the defendant is found guilty. The charges against Loop stem from the death of Koenn who died from an apparent gunshot wound at his rural Cecil home.
