Elaine L. Fiser, 85 of Pioneer passed away Sunday evening at Fairlawan Haven Nursing Home in Archbold. She was born on May 24, 1932 in rural Fayette, Ohio to Emerson J. and Laree (Miller) Schmucker. Elaine graduated from Pioneer High School and in 1950 she married James L. Fiser and he preceded her in death in 2005.
She worked for several years at Pioneer Transformer. Elaine was a member of the Pioneer American Legion Auxiliary. She loved her walks around Pioneer and sitting on her front porch swing chatting with family and friends.
Elaine is survived by her three children, Cheryl (Gary) Murray of Montpelier, Alan (Ronda) Fiser and Steven (Bev Black) Fiser both of Pioneer; ten grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; one step grandchild; seven step great grandchildren; two sisters, Jean Graber of Archbold and Linda (Frank) Middleton of Montpelier; two brothers, Larry (Iona) Schmucker and Richard (Lois) Schmucker both of Pioneer; and several nieces and nephews.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, husband James L. Fiser, son Norman L. Fiser, and brother Ronald Schmucker.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 14 from 11-1 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home in Pioneer. Services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Frank Middleton to officiate. Interment will be at Floral Grove Cemetery in Pioneer. Donations may be made to CHP-Hospice.
