Financial crisis at Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio is officially over

The financial crisis that nearly shut down the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio is officially over and the employees who contributed to the cause by pitching in to keep the lights on and cells secured will receive a large bonus at the end of the year in the form of a $1,000 bonus check. Those bonuses were approved on Wednesday morning by the jail’s financial oversight committee. When the City of Toledo pulled out of the jail’s regional partnership on Sept. 1, CCNO Director of Security and Operations Dennis Sullivan said that was a qualifying event and the unions had the option to open contract negotiations but chose not to do so. He added they instead stepped up to the plate and put in overtime and accepted responsibility and supervision for more inmates from state parole violations.
