Jewish cemetery vandalised in Fort Wayne

Police are looking for at least two people who vandalized a Fort Wayne cemetery. On Monday, Fort Wayne police found 54 toppled grave markers and one of them split in half. The Jewis cemetery sustained over $20,000 in damage, and the Executive Director of Jewish Federation of Fort Wayne says condolences and cash are streaming in. Since the graves are so old, it will be difficult to track down current family members. The federation is now helping the cemetery’s governing board collect donations to repair the damaged stones, improve security and provide for future needs. Anyone with information about the vandals is asked to call Fort Wayne Police.
