Lowell Warncke, 76

Lowell Frederick Warncke, 76, passed away on May 30, 2013.

Lowell was born April 21, 1937, to Selma (Tietje) and Paul H. Warncke in Bryan, Ohio where he was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church. He attended first grade in Ridgeville, Ohio, but graduated from Wauseon High School in 1955. After graduation he served two years in the First Infantry Division of the US Army. Most of his career was as a peace officer beginning with the Wauseon Police Department. After joining the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department he held several positions earning the Ohio Prosecuting Attorney’s citation for Outstanding Peace Officer of the year in 1977. Lowell retired from the Fulton County Sheriff Department as a Lieutenant in 1994.

He was a member of the National Sheriff’s Association, the Buckeye State Sheriff’s Association, the Fulton County Historical Society and Trinity Lutheran Church in Wauseon.

He is survived by his wife, Judy (Schrader) Warncke, two sons: Daniel (Micky) Warncke of West Chester, Ohio; Paul (Jeanette) Warncke of Wauseon, Ohio; two daughters: Joanne (Dana) Mack of Dublin, Ohio; Ruth (Scott) Brumagin of Mountaintop, PA; 9 grandchildren: Regan Dunlap; Seth and Hannah Warncke; Sydney, Sawyer, and Spencer Mack; Samantha, Cassidy, and Jack Brumagin, as well as his brothers and sisters: Donald (Carol) Warncke of Wauseon, Ohio; Verne(Phyllis) Warncke of Delta,Ohio; Joyce (Richard) Darcy of Punta Gorda, FL; Larry (Neva) Warncke of Brooklyn,MI; Karen Warncke of Marquette, MI; Roger (Pat) Warncke of Wauseon, OH; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceeded in death by his parents ; an infant sister, Joan; a brother, Marvin (Phyllis) Warncke of Centerville, OH and a grandson Jeromy Kinney.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 3, 2013 from 2:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M at the Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wauseon, with Pastor Keith Hunsinger, officiating. Interment will follow in the Wauseon Union Cemetery.
