Marcella G. Koerner, 93

Marcella G. Koerner, age 93, of Edgerton, Ohio, passed away at 1:10 A.M. on Saturday, October 13, 2018, in her home, surrounded by her family, after an extended illness. Mrs. Koerner was a 1942 graduate of Edgerton High School and attended International Business College in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and The Ohio State University. A devoted farm wife and mother, she was the bookkeeper for the family dairy farm business. She was a member of the Edgerton United Methodist Church, where she had been active as the church organist for many years, the choir director, and leader of Junior High MYF, and was a member of the Tri County Farm Bureau Council. Marcella enjoyed gardening, knitting and teaching piano and was a excellent seamstress. Most of all she was devoted to her family and was able to pass her homemaking skills family and values on to her children and grandchildren.

Marcella Grace Koerner was born near Edgerton on January 23, 1925, the daughter of Arthur Emanuel and Mattie Elsie (Johnson) Krill. She married her husband of nearly seventy-two years, Robert B. Koerner, on December 8, 1946, in the Edgerton Emanuel United Methodist Church and he survives.

Surviving in addition to her husband are her children, Steven Koerner, of Edgerton, Barbara Magree, of Columbus, Ohio, Chris (Donna) Koerner, of Edgerton, and Susan (Richard) Sleesman, of Sheridan, Wyoming; eleven grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Benjamin Robert Koerner; her sister, Iona Koerner; a brother, Galen E. Krill; and a son-in-law, Paul T. Magree.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 19, 2018, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 114 East Hull Street, Edgerton. Services will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2018, at 10:30 A.M. in the Edgerton United Methodist Church with Pastor Susan Kronbach officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton.

Memorials are requested to the Edgerton United Methodist Church.
