Marjorie Melton, 89

Marjorie K. Melton, 89 years, of Bryan, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2013 at Hillside Country Living, Bryan.  Marjorie was born November 27, 1923 in Defiance, Ohio, the daughter of the late Howard and Ethel (Smith) Lang.  She was a 1941 graduate of Defiance High School.  She married John L. Melton on October 22, 1949 in Defiance, and he preceded her in death on August 6, 2012.  Marjorie was a receptionist and bookkeeper for her husband, John L. Melton Motor Sales.  She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and the Altar & Rosary Society as well as the Ladies Circles at church.  She was also a member of the Bryan Eagles Aerie 2233.  Marjorie was a Cub Scout Den Mother.  She enjoyed water skiing, life at the lake and spending time at Mark and Jana’s Alpaca Farm.  Marjorie loved to play Bridge and Bingo.

Surviving are her three sons, Jack (Mary) Melton of Port Charlotte, Florida, Dan (Shelley) Melton of Angola, Indiana and Mark (Jana) Melton of Wabash, Indiana; five grandchildren, Shannon Melton of Bryan, Heather Melton of Bryan, Tara Melton of Austin, Texas, David Melton, USN of Norfolk, Virginia, and Christina Melton of Louisville, Kentucky; one great-grandson, Donald Eugene (Trae) Guilford of Bryan.

Visitation for Marjorie K. Melton will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan where the Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday evening.  Funeral services for Marjorie K. Melton will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 31, 2013 in St. Patrick Catholic Church, 610 South Portland Street, Bryan, with Father Jim Halleron officiating.  Private interment will follow on Thursday afternoon in Fountain Grove Cemetery, Bryan.
