National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is Saturday April 29

The United States will collectively fight back against prescription drug abuse this Saturday, April 29, as part of National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. On that day, police departments across the country will take part in events aimed at letting residents clear their cabinets of excess and outdated medications, specifically pain killers, in hopes of keeping them off the streets. In addition to the Williams County Sheriff’s Office and Multi-Area Narcotics Task Force’s (MAN Unit) ongoing collection efforts, Montpelier will have a dedicated collection officer on duty from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Montpelier Police Station. The Defiance Sheriffs Office and Defiance PD will collect from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The Defiance County Sheriff’s Office will be accepting pills only at the Sheriff’s Office located at 113 Biede Ave. in Defiance. Hicksville Police Department will have a dedicated collection officer on duty from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the department on W. High St. in Hicksville.
