OHIO TEXTING AND DRIVING RECORDS RELEASED

A new texting while driving law took effect in Ohio about a year ago, but so far, it hasn’t had a very big impact across the Buckeye state.

Traffic citation statistics show there hasn’t been a big upswing in tickets for Ohio drivers who insist on texting while driving.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol issued warnings for the first six months the law was in effect. A spokesman for the highway patrol said it doesn’t have a total number of citations written since the grace period ended about six months ago because the data set would be so small.
