Scott M. Dean, 46

Scott M. Dean, 46 years, of Bryan, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2016, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers, Bryan. Scott was born March 30, 1969, in Bryan. He was a 1987 graduate of Bryan High School and later attended police academy. He married Christina K. Hancock on June 4, 1994, in Archbold, Ohio. Scott began his career at Stark and Pahl Plumbing and Heating, which later became Stark’s Inc. He then started his own business, Dean Plumbing and Heating. Scott also was a reserved police officer for The Bryan Police Department. He was a member of the Bryan AMVETS Post 54. In his free time, Scott passionately followed his son’s athletic and scholastic events. If he was not following sports he enjoyed being outside, whether it be hunting or fishing. He especially enjoyed spending time around the water, enjoying nature.

Surviving is his wife Chris of Bryan; three sons, Brandon, Zachary and Austin Dean all of Bryan; mother and loving stepfather, Sandy (Toby) Gorny; father and loving stepmother, Dan (JoDee) Dean of Bryan; sister, Kassie (Jack) Cain of Bryan; stepbrother, Danny Dean of Bryan; step grandmother, Mary Latson of Montpelier; mother and father-in-law, Dave and Nancy Hancock of Stryker and sister-in-law, Laura (Kyle) Roth of Delaware, Ohio. Scott was preceded in death by his grandparents, Warren and Alice Buchanan, Don and Marjorie Dean, John and Lorraine Gorny, Keith and Barb Williams, and Jack Latson.

Visitation for Scott M. Dean will be held Sunday, February 7, 2016, from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan. Funeral services for Scott will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, February 8, 2016, at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father Jim Halleron officiating. Interment will follow in Brown Cemetery, Bryan.
