Thelma Kathleen (Myers) Skiles, 92

Thelma Kathleen (Myers) Skiles, age 92, of Montpelier, Ohio, died at 2:50 A.M. on Thursday, November 16, 2017, at Hillside Country Living near Bryan, Ohio, where she was a resident. Mrs. Skiles was a 1943 graduate of Butler High School in Butler, Indiana. A devoted homemaker, she had also been employed by Bryan Canning Factory and later was employed by Robinair in Montpelier for thirteen years. She was a member of Bethlehem Christian Union Church and Farm Bureau and supported local 4-H, serving as an advisor for many years. Thelma enjoyed gardening, cooking and quilting.

Thelma Kathleen (Myers) Skiles was born on May 2, 1925, in Foraker, Ohio, the daughter of Walter and Helen (Kramer) Myers. She married Howard W. Skiles on December 11, 1943, Bryan, Ohio, and he survives.

Surviving in addition to her husband are three sons, Lynn (Lilly) Skiles, of Montpelier, Ohio, Lonn (Gloria) Skiles, of Land O Lakes, Florida, and Reverend Neal (Ellen) Skiles, of Heath, Ohio; one daughter, Susan (Michael) Long, of Edon, Ohio; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Calvin Myers, of Sherwood, Ohio, and Walter Myers, of Selma, Alabama; and one sister, Linda Battershell, of Roanoke, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Myers and Helen Kramer Myers Berkes; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Roger Tharp; granddaughter, Pamela (Tharp) Grasso; grandson, Jason Lee Skiles; two step-granddaughters, Kerrie Duke and Kimberly Barnett; two brothers, Glenn A. Myers and Carl L. Myers; and a sister, Pauline Camp.

A memorial service celebrating the life of Thelma Kathleen (Myers) Skiles will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 16, 2017, in Bethlehem Christian Union Church, with her son, Reverend Neal Skiles, officiating. Interment will be held in Edon Cemetery at a later date.
