2,500 SOWS TO ARRIVE IN HICKSVILLE

2,500 sows will soon arrive at their new home at Fox Tail Sow Farm near Hicksville.

The farm on Jericho Road, is owned by Cooper Farms, and is the company’s first in Defiance County.

It will employ at least 11 people full time, and use around 90,000 bushels of corn annually, which will be purchased from local farmers.

Cooper Farms, according to the Bryan Times, worked primarily with local businesses during construction of the farm. Over 40 contractors took part, doing anything from pouring concrete to electrical work.
