Barton Rowe, 94

Barton E. Rowe, 94 years, of Bryan, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2014 at Hillside Country Living, Bryan.  Barton was born December 13, 1919 in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Harold E. and Hannah M. (Truitt) Rowe.  He was a 1937 graduate of East Cleveland High School.  Bart served in the United States Coast Guard.  He married Doris M. Bostater on November 19, 1941 in Bryan, and she preceded him in death on July 21, 2004.  He was a Supervisor at ARO Corp, for 41 years, and was also involved in setting up the ARO plant in Southern Pines, North Carolina.  He retired in December 1982.  He was a member of Trinity Seventh Day Adventist Church and the Farmer American Legion Post 137.  Bart was an avid golfer and loved to bowl also.

Surviving is his daughter, Joyce M. Rowe of Bryan and one son, Barton Foster (Patsy) Rowe, also of Bryan; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Herm Rowe of Lake Havasu, Arizona.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Doris; three brothers, William, Harold and Edwin Rowe and one sister, Helen Pitts.

Visitation for Barton E. Rowe will be held from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. Thursday, May 29, 2014 in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan, where funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, May 30, 2014 with Pastor Roy Nelson officiating.  Interment will follow in Farmer Cemetery, with Military Graveside Rites accorded by the Farmer American Legion Post 137.
