BMU Celebrating Public Power Week

Bryan Munic­i­pal Util­i­ties is cel­e­brat­ing Pub­lic Power Week, Oct. 5–11, along with more than 2,000 other community-owned elec­tric util­i­ties across the U.S. that pro­vide elec­tric­ity on a not-for-profit basis.

As part of the cel­e­bra­tion of Pub­lic Power Week, Bryan Munic­i­pal Util­i­ties is invit­ing com­mu­nity mem­bers to attend an open house at the elec­tric facil­i­ties on Thurs­day, Octo­ber 9th, from 3:30 to 6:30 PM at 841 East Edger­ton Street in Bryan.

BMU line work­ers will demon­strate their climb­ing and line work­ing skills, and kids will have the oppor­tu­nity to try on line worker gear and to gen­er­ate elec­tric­ity ped­dling an energy bike. In addi­tion, there will be chances to win prizes, and BMU will serve up hot dogs from the grill and refresh­ments.
