Man charged with rape in Defiance County

The grand jury in Defiance County has handed down several indictments. A man is charged with rape after meeting an 18-year-old through social media and showing up at her home where she was attacked. 21-year-old Rian Barton is facing two counts of rape, aggravated burglary and sexual battery.

Hicksville woman accused of identity theft

A Hicksville woman is facing charges for identity fraud. 27-year-old April Shugars allegedly stole credit cards from a victim and used their personal information to obtain over $1,000. The indictment says the alleged crimes occurred between December and February.

The grand jury has handed down an indictment against a man for breaking in to Defiance College campus buildings and taking items. Jamario Belton, age 23, is facing three counts of breaking and entering. The break-ins happened on March 5th, March 9th and March 10th.
