CCNO IS BACK IN BUSINESS

Jail doors at the Cor­rec­tions Cen­ter of North­west Ohio are now open again to all juris­dic­tions after being closed for two full days to Defi­ance County while five of the six juris­dic­tions have been asked to reduce their pop­u­la­tions which exceed 90 per­cent.

he pop­u­la­tion peaked at 95.5 per­cent on Sat­ur­day. Jail doors were closed to Defi­ance County as its pop­u­la­tion stood at 110 per­cent on Sat­ur­day.

The City of Toledo at 99 per­cent as well as Lucas County at 97 per­cent were also asked to reduce their pop­u­la­tions.

Around 2 p.m. on Mon­day, jail doors were opened to Defi­ance County as the over­all jail pop­u­la­tion stood at 92 per­cent.

It was the fifth over­crowd­ing emer­gency declared at CCNO dur­ing 2013.
