Chuck Nicolen, 58

Charles A. “Chuck” Nicolen, 58 years, of Hamilton, Indiana and formerly of Montpelier, Ohio, passed away Saturday, August 17, 2013 at his residence after a 2 year battle with cancer.  Chuck was born November 30, 1954 in Montpelier, the son of Donald L. and Theresa M. (Ferraro) Nicolen.  He attended Montpelier High School.  Chuck married Connie S. Stahler on June 12, 2004 in Montpelier.  Chuck worked for Multi-Cast in Wauseon for the past six years.  Prior to this, Chuck had been employed by Edgerton Forge.  Chuck loved the outdoors and spend many hours hunting, fishing, camping and hunting for mushrooms.  He also recently enjoyed going to garage sales and tinkering with outboard motors.  Chuck also enjoyed making wine, but he really treasured the time he could spend with his family.

Surviving is his wife, Connie of Hamilton; five children, Joshua Nicolen of Pioneer, Ohio, Jacob (Shaleena) Nicolen also of Pioneer, Ohio, Alexandria Andres of Bryan, David (Amy) McMillen of Montgomery, Michigan and Billie Jo (Dusty) Jones of Montpelier; 14 grandchildren; his parents, Don and Theresa Nicolen of Montpelier; two sisters, Randa (Stephen) McCrea of Montpelier and Mary Jo Welling of West Unity, Ohio; father and mother-in-law, Frank and Donna Stahler of Montpelier; one brother-in-law, Ralph (Pam) Stahler of Kunkle, Ohio; three sisters-in-law, Deb Wells of Montpelier, Karen (Max) Smeltzer of Kunkle, Ohio and Rita Taggert of Montpelier.  He was preceded in death by his brother, John A. “Lonnie” Chrisman and two sisters, Constance “Connie” Buldas and Anne Nicolen.

There will be no visitation and services will be private for the family.  Arrangements have been under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, Bryan, Ohio.
