Deadly Fire In Garrett

A fire claims the lives of two people in downtown Garrett. Officials say another victim is hospitalized after the blaze at Hall’s Sleeping Rooms. First units on the scene found heavy flames and smoke coming from the brick structure on South Randolph Street. It is not known how many people were in the building at the time of the blaze. Investigators say it appears to have started in the living area of the building. The cause has not yet been determined. The victims have not been identified, pending the notification of their family. The incident remains under investigation.
