DEFIANCE ADMINISTRATOR CALLS IT QUITS

Defi­ance County government’s admin­is­tra­tor has announced her res­ig­na­tion.

Laura How­ell, the county admin­is­tra­tor since 2007, announced her deci­sion to step down, as she will be tak­ing a posi­tion as orga­ni­za­tional devel­op­ment coor­di­na­tor in Ful­ton County Audi­tor Brett Kolb’s office on May 28, and be paid an annual salary of $63,000. Her duties there will include assist­ing in human resource man­age­ment.

How­ell plans to con­tinue work­ing as Defi­ance County admin­is­tra­tor until May 24, and will assist com­mis­sion­ers in their search for a replacement.
