Ellen Baltosser, 79

Ellen S. (Hendrickson) Baltosser, 79 years, of Tapiola, Michigan and formerly of West Unity, Ohio, passed away Monday, September 16, 2013 in Marquette, Michigan, after a short illness.  Ellen was born August 20, 1934 in Tapiola, Michigan, the daughter of the late William and Tekla (Miller) Hendrickson.  She attended the John A. Doelle School in Tapiola, and graduated from Montpelier High School.  Ellen then attended Huntington College, Huntington, Indiana where she received her Bachelors of Science in Education.  Ellen married Paul H. “Tom” Baltosser on June 28, 1958 in Montpelier, Ohio, and he survives.  Ellen taught for a total of 30 years, beginning in Roanoke, Indiana.  She then taught at Painesdale, Michigan and Edon, Ohio and ended her career teaching 27 years in the Bryan City Schools, Bryan, Ohio.  Ellen had a lifelong passion of learning.  She was proud of her Finnish heritage and spend many hours delving into her family’s genealogy.  She also enjoyed reading, sewing, making greeting cards and scrap booking.  Ellen was also very proud of her family, especially her grandson Clayton, and all his accomplishments.

Surviving is her husband, Paul H. “Tom” Baltosser of Tapiola, Michigan; one daughter, Jacqueline Renee and her husband Jimmy L. Borton of Morenci, Michigan; one grandson, Clayton Borton of Morenci, Michigan and one sister, Millie (Roger) Little of Calumet, Michigan as well as several nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Ellen S. (Hendrickson) Baltosser will be held on Friday, September 20, 2013, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 202 North Liberty Street, West Unity, Ohio.  Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 21, 2013 in Floral Grove Cemetery, County Road K, West Unity with Lynne (Stoltz) Nofziger officiating.
