Two Fulton County men facing charges in connection with a cold murder case were extradited to West Virginia recently.

51 year old Charles Freeman of Archbold, had been arrested in Napoleon, while 58 year old David Hughes of Archbold, was arrested at his home there. Both were detained by area law enforcement in connection with the 1999 murder of two Lewis County, W.Va., women.

They had been housed at the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio pending extradition.

Hughes and Freeman are facing two counts each of murder, kidnapping and robbery in connection with the deaths of 69 year old Maxine Stalnaker and 45 year old Mary Friend who authorities report disappeared from Lewis County 14 years ago.

Officials say a tip led them to arrest the two Archbold men.
