Harold Johnson, 82

Harold W. Johnson, age 82 years, of Montpelier, passed away early Monday morning, April 8, 2013, at the CHP Defiance Area In-Patient Hospice Center. He was born June 23, 1930, at Stanford, KY, the son of James and Florence (Anness) Johnson. He married Dorothy Harris on August 31, 1957, and she preceded him in death on October 17, 2006. He lived in Jackson, MI, moving to Archbold in 1985 and to Montpelier in 1995. He worked at Consumers Power Company in Jackson, MI, and later, with his wife, owned and operated the Archbold Lanes from 1985 to 1990. He served in the United States Army from 1955-1957.

He is survived by two children, Stephan (Anita) Johnson of Sterling Heights, MI, and Mary Miller of Montpelier; six grandchildren, Brendan Johnson, Alexander Johnson, Aaron Johnson, Erica Johnson, David Miller and Leah Miller; and a sister Nancy Ezell of Florence, KY.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife.

Services will be held on Friday at 10:30 AM at Short Funeral Home in Archbold with Pastor Nick Hudson officiating. Interment will follow in the Pettisville Cemetery. Friends may call in the funeral home from 2-8 PM on Thursday.
