Harry Martin Sanders, 94

Harry Martin Sanders, age 94, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 3:20 P.M. on Wednesday, March 25, 2020, at his home in Bryan, surrounded by his family.  Mr. Sanders was a graduate of Butler High School in Butler, Indiana, and proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II with the Sea Bees, rising to the rank of Petty Officer 3rd Class.  Harry was a tool and die maker and also a research and development engineer with Aro/Ingersol-Rand in Bryan, retiring with more than forty years of service.  He was a Life Member of Bryan American Legion Post #284 and a member of Edgerton American Legion Post #10.  He was a Boy Scout leader for twenty years and founded Troop 191 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bryan.  Harry enjoyed gardening, going to the lake and spending time with family.
Harry Martin Sanders was born on May 23, 1925, in Butler, Indiana, the son of Lawrence and Edith (Harry) Sanders.  He married Betty Jean Carteyn on April 8, 1947, in Bryan, and she preceded him in death on April 20, 2015.
Harry is survived by four sons, Larry (Marilyn) Sanders, of Bryan, Mark Sanders, of Edon, Ohio, Eric Sanders, of Bryan, and Craig Sanders, of Montpelier, Ohio; three daughters, Theresa (Michael) Arnold, of Kinderhook, Michigan, Sue Ann (Dusty) Rhoades, of Sarasota, Florida, and Amy (Russell) Patten, of Bryan; sixteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Richard Sanders; two sisters, Theresa LaMantia and Donelda Siglow; and a granddaughter, Kimberly Ann Eddy.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, services will be private.  Interment will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Edgerton, Ohio, with grave side military rites.  A memorial service celebrating Harry’s life will be held at a later date.  Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, has been entrusted with his service arrangements.
