Julie Marie Onstott, 67 years, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2020 in her home.Julie was born on February 8, 1953 in Montpelier, Ohio, the daughter of Burl and Carol (Annis) Hayes. She was a 1971 graduate of Edon High School, Edon, Ohio and continued her education to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. On December 6, 1977, she was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Onstott and he preceded her in death on June 7, 2017. Julie spent her nursing career helping others working at Hickory Creek Nursing Home, Hicksville. She was a loving and devoted mother who treasured her children and grandchildren and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as grandma.
Julie Marie Onstott is survived by her children, Dianna (Jerry) Hans, Janice Dewey, Kurt (Amy) Onstott, Phillip (Angela) Smith, Pete Smith, Joe (Nikki) Smith, Julie (Eddie) Young; eighteen grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; her mother, Carol Jennings; siblings, Cheryl Smith, Micky Keller, Linda (Bill) Elwood, Janie Hayes, Carrie (Greg) Livensparger, Eric Heitzmann, Jeff Heitzmann, Brian Heitzmann; and her dog Bo. She was preceded in death by her father, Burl Hayes and stepmother Donna Hayes; sisters Susie Collins, Lisa Sherman; brother Kent Hayes; a grandson, Jacob Young; and two brothers-in-law, Sid Smith and Ryan Dewey.
To honor Julie’s wishes, there will be no services. Memorials may be made to the Onstott family. Arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, Hicksville Chapel.
