LEVY QUESTION COMES AT A COST

The Williams County Soil and Water Conservation District has placed a levy on the May 7 special election ballot, which they say will bring in $271,000 annually if passed.

The resolution has been filed, but because the May ballot is a special election, Soil and Water will need to pay the costs of the election.

The Bryan Times reports that the ballots alone will cost between $5,500 to $6,000; legal advertising approximately $400; precinct kits, $300; equipment delivery, $400 to $500; and memory/mobile ballot box and registration lists between $500 and $1,000.
