Melvin K. Wineland, 66

Melvin K. Wineland, 66 years, of Bryan, Ohio passed away Sunday, January 19, 2020 at his home with his wife by his side. Melvin was born July 24, 1953 in Bryan, Ohio, the son of the late Richard and Beulah (Smith) Wineland. He married Marilyn Shonk on November 19, 1988 in Bryan, Ohio and she survives. Melvin worked 31 years at Robinair Manufacturing in Montpelier as a machine operator, inspector and in the maintenance department and then worked 11 years at Altenloh, Brink & Co Group Tru-Fast in Bryan where he retired. He is an avid airplane enthusiast, building and flying several ultralights, he also enjoyed riding his motorcycle.

Surviving is his wife, Marilyn Wineland of Bryan, Ohio; two stepsons, Brian Apt of Columbus, Ohio and Bradley Apt of Montpelier, Ohio; one brother, Clifford (Kila) Wineland of Edgerton, Ohio; two half-sisters, Marjorie Carlin and Janet Hall both of Bryan, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents and a half-brother, Ronald Snyder.

Visitation for Melvin K. Wineland will be held Saturday, January 25, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. in Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, LYNN STREET CHAPEL, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan, Ohio. Memorial Services will begin at 2:00pm on Saturday in the funeral home with Rev. Peter Paige officiating. Private burial will follow at Fountain Grove Cemetery, Bryan.

The family asks those remembering Melvin K. Wineland to make memorial contributions to Heartland Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Association.
