NEW SITES TO OPEN BY AUGUST AT STATE PARK

The Independence Dam State Park, with the help of some area Boy Scouts, plans to reopen 15 non-electric camping sites after the sites were closed down 10 years ago. Each site will have a fire ring, picnic table and clear view of the river.

There will be three camping spaces strictly for RVs and a maximum of six people to each site.

The sites are set to open in August to the general public.
