TOLEDO EDISON EXPLAINS WEEKEND POWER OUTAGE

The power was out for some customers in our area over this past weekend.

Toledo Edison says more than 7,000 customers from the Defiance-Holgate areas were without power Sunday evening due to an equipment failure.

It happened around 7 p.m. when an insulator failed at the Richland substation along U.S. 24 in Defiance.

7,450 customers were affected. The outage lasted from nine minutes in some areas to more than two hours in other areas.
