Virginia Brown, 91

Virginia I. (Heisler) Brown, 91 years, of Bryan, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2014 at The Inns & Villas at Fountain Park where she had been a resident.  Virginia was born May 15, 1922 at home in Farmer, Ohio the daughter of the late Steward Frederick and Clara (Beerbower) Heisler.  She was a 1940 graduate of Farmer High School.  Virginia married Harold G. Brown on September 29, 1940 in Edgerton, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on December 10, 2003.  Virginia and her husband, Harold, were the owners of the former Brown’s Drive-In for 25 years.  They then opened the American Handy Craft Store on the Square in Bryan.  She was a charter member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Bryan.

Surviving are her two children, Duane (Susie) Brown of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Jeannette (Dick) Hanna of Bryan; eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Vance (Arlene) Heisler of Farmer, Ohio; special friend, Orval Wyse of Archbold, Ohio; three nieces and 10 nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harold, one brother, Vernard “Bill” Brown and one sister, Joanne Uran.

Funeral services for Virginia Heisler Brown will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 503 Center Street, Bryan with Pastor Mary Beth Smith Gunn officiating.  Interment will follow in Farmer Cemetery, Farmer, Ohio.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.  Arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home-Greenisen Chapel, 225 East High Street, Bryan, Ohio.
